RAYLEIGH 10K 

RTC Events & JBR Run & Tri Club are pleased to announce that we are organising the fifth Rayleigh 10k Multi Terrain Run to take place on Sunday 2nd June 2024. Starting at 10am

 

The Rayleigh 10k cross-country run will take place on Sunday 4th June 2023. 
The course will follow the same route as before, starting and finishing at Belchamps Scout Activity Centre and will follow a circular route through Hockley Woods, Grove Woods and Gusted Hall Woods, using pathways and bridleways and will be CHIP TIMED.
Entrance fees: (pre-booked) - £20 (UKA Affiliated, £22 (unaffiliated) plus booking registration fee

The start and finish of the run is at Gusted Hall lane Essex SS5 4JL - What3Words ///shapeless.deferring.surpassed and will follow a circular route using pathways and bridleways through Hockley Woods, Grove Woods and back through to finish at the top of Gusted Hall Woods. The event will be chip timed

Age limit: 16 and over

Race limit: 550 entrants

There will be four prizes (trophies) awarded:-

first place male (16-40)

first place female (16-35) 

first place male veteran (over 40)

first place female veteran (over 35) 

plus a medal for all finishers.

Water stations will be provided at approximately 5km and at the finish.

This event will have chip timing, your time starts when you cross the starting matt and finishes when you cross the finish line matt.

Important information for participants:-

1. UK Athletics Permit number tba

2. The start and finish of the run is at Gusted Hall lane Essex SS5 4JL - What3Words ///shapeless.deferring.surpassed. Parking will be situated at Clements Hall leisure Centre, Access to the start area is by foot only, further details on getting to the start line will be sent out before the event. 

3. Car Parking: There will be approximately 150 car parking spaces available at Clements Hall Leisure Centre, Clements Hall Way, Hawkwell SS5 4LN, What3Words ///appendix.opposing.hence  which is approximately 1 mile from Gusted Hall Lane and approximately a 15 minutes walk.  If you use on-street parking in the vicinity of The Event, please park considerately and ensure that access for residents and emergency vehicles is not restricted in any way.  It would be appreciated if you could car-share or arrange to be dropped-off, where possible, please. PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE UP TO THE RACE START AS THIS IS CLOSED FOR ALL ATTENDEES AND WILL CAUSE ROAD BLOCKAGES AS THERE ARE NO PASSING PLACES

4. Registration: will be open at 8am and the Event will start at 10am.  On arrival, please go to the registration desk in the marquee to collect your race number and chip.  Please bring the confirmation for your entry.  Please arrive in good time to allow enough time for the check-in procedure and for you to complete the mandatory “Competitor Information” on the reverse of your race number. Full and final details for chip & number collection will be given before race day via e-mail

5. Bags: Your race number will have a tear-off strip to attach to your bag.  Bag storage will be in the marquee by the registration desk. All property/bags left in the marquees are left at the owners risk, you are advised to not leave any valubles within your bag. 

6. Dogs: dogs are not allowed on the course.

7. Acceptance of Conditions - By entering this event you warrant that to the best of your knowledge that you are medically fit to do so and that you have no medical disability that could endanger yourself or others by taking part and will not run if you are unfit on the day. You understand and agree that the organisers will not be liable for any loss, damage, injury or illness, however caused as a consequence of entering this event.

8 The Participant acknowledges that participation in the Event is physically strenuous. It is acknowledged that participation in the Event will be physically demanding and the Participant is aware of the nature of the Event and associated medical and physical risks involved.

8.1 While the Event Organiser takes every care with the staging of the Event, the Participant acknowledges that personal accident and personal items insurance is his or her sole responsibility.

8.2 All decisions and rulings by the Event Organiser, its employees and its agents are considered final. Accordingly, the Participant will comply with all Event rules and all instructions and guidelines given by stewards, marshals, and safety personnel. The Participant acknowledges and agrees that the Event Organiser will organise and run the Event and will have sole authority and be the final arbiter on all decisions relating to the safety, running and organisation of the Event, the rules of the Event, the timings/finish times and the placing’s.

8.3 There will be event photographers on the course, by entering this event you are giving your consent to your picture being taken of which may then be posted on any social media and event websites or partners therein.

8.4 The Event Organiser will use best endeavours to provide an Event finish time for the Participant however it cannot be held responsible for any computer result anomalies or any technical malfunctions.
