Beginner Triathlete Course

This course is designed to take you from Beginner/Novice triathlete to completing your 1st triathlon. With sound coaching advice and guidance along the way. 

The world of triathlon can sometimes seem a very daunting place with all the talk about heart rate zones, brick session, CSS and power meters. It doesn't have to be this way, triathlon can be enjoyed by everyone with or without a fancy bike or power meter.

This course has been put together to help put at ease the mind of the BEGINNER/NOVICE triathlete. We aim to take you through the basic principles of triathlon with a fully integrated 10 week online coaching programme to follow. 

However there are a few things to consider:

There will be a maximum of 20 spaces available

The cost of this 10 week inclusive course is £195

 Coached swim sessions ( pool based )

 Coached Bike sessions ( indoor & outdoor based )

 Coached Run Sessions ( Indoor & Outdoor based )

Coached Brick Sessions ( indoor & outdoor based )

What is expected of the candidate

You must be physically able to swim-bike-run on your own

You must be able to swim 50m front crawl non stop, we will be coaching swim drills & fitness / not teaching you to swim.

You must be able to run for 1 mile non stop and be able to cycle 3 miles regardless of speed.

You must have your own bike or at least have access to one, this bike can be a Mountain Bike or a Racing Bike

You must have your own safety equipment for the bike and ensure the bike is in safe working condition i.e. Brakes work, Tyres are in good condition and you must have a bike helmet

You own swimming and running kit will also be needed 

We will finish with a short pool based sprint triathlon at the Clements Hall Leisure centre using the pool then open roads for the bike and run. ( Venue and Facilities are subject to change )

Beginners Triathlon Course – Terms of Entry

 

By enrolling on the Beginners Triathlon Course, participants agree to the following terms:

 

  1. Fitness & Health Responsibility
    All participants must be medically fit and capable of undertaking physical exercise. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they are fit to take part and to inform the coach of any medical conditions, injuries, illnesses, or relevant health concerns prior to and during the course.

  2. Personal Responsibility
    Participation is at the individual’s own risk. The organisers and coaches accept no responsibility for injury, illness, or loss sustained during sessions, except where caused by proven negligence.

  3. Session Structure & Changes
    Session content, timing, venues, and formats may change due to weather, facility availability, safety considerations, or operational reasons. Reasonable notice will be given where possible.

  4. Attendance Expectation
    The course consists of 10 structured sessions. Participants are expected to attend as many sessions as possible to gain full benefit from the programme.

  5. Non-Attendance & Refunds
    If a participant is unable to attend one or more sessions for any reason, no refunds or partial refunds will be issued. Missed sessions cannot be transferred or credited.

  6. Conduct
    Participants are expected to behave respectfully towards coaches and fellow athletes and follow all safety instructions during sessions.

  7. Acceptance of Terms
    Booking and participation confirm acceptance of these terms in full.
